Degerby Igor museum
Furuborgintie 6,
10160 Degerby
The Degerby Igor museum tells stories of human interest about the lease period of Porkkala 1944-1956. This area, very close to Helsinki, was leased to the Soviet Union after WW2.
The Degerby Igor-museum started in 1997 and tells about what happened before, and during and after the lease time. The main theme for 2022 is 66 000 sea-mines 2 anti–submarine nets and Porkkala. In addition to that Ukraine - and Estonia´s fortification until 1939. Our exhibitions are available from 7.5. on. We have transfered some of our exhibitions into digital form which enables us to present a wider scale than ever. The museum also offers a nice shop.
