Degerby Igor museum
Furuborgintie 6,
10160 Degerby
The Degerby Igor museum tells stories of human interest about the lease period of Porkkala 1944-1956. This area, very close to Helsinki, was leased to the Soviet Union after WW2.
The Degerby Igor-museum started in 1997 and tells about what happened before, and during and after the lease time when the Sovietunion occupied Porkkala and used it as a marin base. This year we will tell how the base flopped and moved on to the other side af the Finnish gulf. The museum also offers a nice shop.
