Voipaala is a meeting place for lovers of art, history, cultural events and nature.
Voipaala is a meeting place for lovers of art, history, cultural events and nature. The Art Center presents high-quality contemporary art throughout the year.
The art center and manor area are owned by the city of Valkeakoski. In addition to the exhibition and workshop facilities, there are self-employed people in the manor's area: enjoy a delicious cake in the café or enjoy wellness treatments.
The manor and the surrounding parks are located on the slopes of Rapola, so in addition to art, you can enjoy national and cultural landscapes as well as valuable nature. The area is a place of cultural and historical significance, already mentioned in the papal bull of the 1340s. Voipaala Manor in Sääksmäki dates back to the Middle Ages and has been a pioneer in many ways. Voipala has operated Finland's first sugar factory and real school. The last private owner was the sculptor Elias Ilkka, whose museumed studio is open in the summer.
The historic baroque park dates back to the 18th century.
Entrance to the Finland's largest ancient hill fort and the Rapola area of relics goes through the yard.
