Birthplace of Sibelius
Hallituskatu 11,
13100 Hämeenlinna
Birthplace of the famous Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
Composer Jean Sibelius (1865-1957) was born and lived the first 20 years of his life in Hämeenlinna. The rooms of his birthplace are decorated in the style of the era between the 1860s and the 1880s, and the museum exhibition sheds light on little Janne’s childhood years in Hämeenlinna. A guided tour will provide you with more information. Chamber concerts are regularly held at the hall of the Birthplace. During conserts, entry to the museum only with a consert ticket.
The autumn matinees 2023 at the Birthplace of Jean Sibelius will feature the music of the composer's students, relatives and contemporaries, as well as the music of Jean Sibelius.
