Tampere Art Museum

The Tampere Art Museum presents temporary exhibitions featuring old masters as well as the newest names in contemporary art. The museum's programme includes both local and international artists. A yearly highlight is the announcement of the Young Artist of the Year and the accompanying prize exhibition.

In spring 2026, the museum will be open from 7 February to 14 June during the Encore! exhibition. The museum building will close on 14 June 2026 for approximately four years due to renovation and the construction of a new main building. During this period, exhibitions will be held in temporary venues. Please check the museum’s website at tampereentaidemuseo.fi for current information.

The Art Museum is located in the former granary on the edge of Pyynikintori, designed by C.L. Engel and completed in 1838, and is easily accessible by tram and other public transport. The museum shop is open during museum hours and online.

The Tampere Art Museum manages and cares for Finland’s second largest art collection, comprising over 15,000 works. Many of the works are on display in the city’s public indoor and outdoor spaces. The world’s only Moomin Museum is also part of the Tampere Art Museum organisation.
