The Museum of Technology operates in the buildings of the old Water Purification Plant of Helsinki. The Rapid Filtration Plant is open to the public in a separate building.
N.B.! The Rapid Filtration Plant is reserved for the end of 2024 for the National Theatre's play UbuVersum, so it is exceptionally closed to the public. UbuVersum shows are coming in November-December 2024!
The Rapid Filtration Plant was completed in 1909. The building houses museumized sand filters that have been used for drinking water treatment. The building has been restored to its 1930's appearance.
The Rapid Filtration Plant is open to the public in a separate building. Admission is included in the entry ticket to The Museum of Technology.
