A knit-along will be held at the City Museum after the book presentation.

 

Knitwear designer Jenny Ansah talks about her recently published Itä-Helsinki neuleina book and the background and stories behind the knitting patterns that were selected for the book. The new book takes you on a journey through the diverse and multicultural neighbourhoods of East Helsinki. In this collection of 15 urban knitwear designs, Ansah draws inspiration from the characteristics of each neighbourhood and joins in some of her personal memories.

A knit-along will be held at the City Museum after the book presentation. Free entry – bring your unfinished knitting!

Jenny Ansah is an Afro-Finnish knitwear designer living in East Helsinki. Her simplisticstyle is inspired by nature. Jenny loves comfortable and relaxed clothes that combinea variety of textured surfaces with a classic plainknit.

The event is part of The Unknown Suburb exhibition programme.
