Erik Bruun’s birds

The exhibition features draft ideas for bird-themed postage stamps, sketches at various phases, approved final sketches, a complete sheet and a first day cover with postmarks.
Graphic designer Erik Bruun is especially known for his posters. Bruun’s precise lines and vivid colours are also suitable for postage stamp designs. In addition to bird motifs, Bruun has designed stamps that depict Finland’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. More than 50 stamps designed by Bruun have been issued, the latest ones to celebrate Bruun’s 100th birthday in April 2026.
