Flower and knife

The exhibition invites viewers to understand and admire the open coexistence of beauty and harshness in life: love, tenderness, and sweetness, but also loss and pain.
"I like space age aesthetics, spiritual development, bodybuilding, and aqua jogging. I like cuteness, Kalervo Palsa, and chocolate. Cheap, functional cars that usually get you to work. People who, when close to death or great loss, experience an inexplicable change and want to tell about it. Symbolism that explains itself without explanation. Reidar Särestöniemi's way of writing and painting about love. Even as a child, I loved the lexical ingenuity of Donald Duck.

I don't like malice, being broke, or the rising shame without cause. I don't like a sore knee. I don't like the life-limiting voice of pride that comes uninvited. I don't like that I offer it a home. I don't like my father's death, even though I waited for it for years.
