The exhibition programme 2025 of Pori Art Museum

Pori Art Museum’s new exhibition programme opens with an exhibition by Circle, a group that stretches the boundaries between art forms. Circle is a phenomenon from Pori, working in the space between avant-garde sound art and various genres of rock music. The band is known for its repetitively monumental and sculptural music, as well as transcendental performative live shows.

The Pori Art Museum is founded on the life’s work of Professor Maire Gullichsen (1907–1990) and the art collection of a foundation bearing her name. Consisting mainly of modern Finnish art, the collection now has a dedicated exhibition space in the Siipi annex. In the opening program, the second half of the Siipi annex will feature a selection of works from the AD HOC Collection donated to the museum by Kristian and Kirsi Gullichsen.

In autumn 2025, the Halli exhibition space will feature a joint presentation by four Finnish contemporary artists: Essi Kausalainen, Olli Keränen, Mikko Kuorinki and Maija Luutonen. The temporary exhibitions space in Siipi will feature a show by the Berlin-based contemporary artist melanie bonajo. The exhibition brings together all three works of the Night Soil -trilogy in an expanded installation form.

Poriginal gallery, currently located in a separate space, will also open within the museum building. Poriginal's program includes six contemporary art exhibitions selected through an open call, all of which open different perspectives on art-making, aesthetics and social significance in this time.
