Exhibition of the Prehistoric Time

In the prehistoric exhibition you'll get to learn about the lives of people living in Southern Ostrobothnia thousands of years ago. What were their daily lives like? What kind of habitation did they have and how did they survive? And what kind of tools and utensils did they have?
In the exhibition there is on display prehistoric discoveries such as holestones, axes, chisels and scrapers. Among them are also pieces of a vase from the comb ceramic times. You'll also get to hear about archeological diggings and findings in Kurikka!
You can also look at a topographic map depicting a Littorina sea island, made by Lakeuden kivikerho. The islands consists of Kurikka and neighbouring municipalities 7500 years ago, surrounded by the sea. The map illustrates the scenery in Kurikka thousands of years ago as well as the changes in sea level and the horizon throughout years.
