Palander House, Hämeenlinna
- 26.10.2024 (18-22)
The ancient Finnish harvest festival, Kekri, will once again be celebrated at Palander House and its courtyard on Saturday, October 26th from 6 PM to 10 PM
Kekri is an old Finnish harvest festival that took place in the autumn, usually at the end of October or the beginning of November, depending on when the harvest was completed. Kekri was a significant celebration before the arrival of Christianity in Finland, playing a central role in Finnish folk traditions. The festival included many different customs and practices, which visitors can explore during the event.
This year, the theme of the event revolves around various supernatural characters from folklore and dreams! You might encounter figures such as Kekrittäret and Ajattaret...
Visitors are encouraged to dress up to the theme!
Palander House will only be open in the evening this time, deviating from its usual opening hours. The event is rated K-12, as some parts may be tense or frightening.
