The museum portrays the history of both national and local photography.

The museum portrays the history of both national and local photography. It is based on the equipment and photograph collections of Pyhälahti Photographer's Shop which functioned in Lapua between the years 1900 and 1980. Collections include over 100 000 listed negatives and photographs most of which are portraits of either individuals or of groups of people. There also some scenic pictures, images from places of work and photos from various events. Rarities include photos of the Lapua Anti-communist Movement.
