Get to know local history from the 1800's all the way to the 1970's in the lush park area of the old Lohja rectory.
The museum is located in the lush, green parkland of Lohja's old vicarage, right next to
the city centre. In addition to the manor-like main building, there is plenty to see and explore
in several of the old outbuildings on the museum grounds. The main museum exhibit,
"Lohja - Our Hometown" will take you on a journey through local history.
You will be able to experience our local residential history in rooms decorated
in the style of various periods, ranging from the late 1800s all the way up to the 1970s.
The old school building, Pedagogio, tells the story of how a small rural town
grew to become a city. In addition to the main exhibit, you can also see
temporary exhibits, participate in events and workshops, stop in at the museum gift shop,
relax in the garden and, during the summer, enjoy a tasty treat
at the museum café.
