Maritime Nagu
Seafaring and maritime life of Nagu from the 1800s till contemporary cargoships.
The Maritime House presents the seafaring history of Nagu from the glorious days of sailing ships built in Nagu to contemporary cargo ships. Nagu was the biggest seafaring parish in Finland during the era of sailing ships, ships which sailed cargo to far away countries. Modern cargoships of Nagu are also presented, as well as the arrival of steamboats to the archipelago. One room is dedicated to the life and work of shipmodelbuilder Sandvall, with miniature ships and boats.
