Power of Thought

"The Power of Thought" is a permanent exhibition of the University of Helsinki and its students, teachers and researchers.


The exhibition tells the story of 380-year-old University of Helsinki. On display are exhibits related to the history of science, teaching and the University, such as imperial portraits, microscopes of different ages, anatomic models, the Charter of the Royal Academy of Turku and the Silver Sceptres from 1640. Later objects in the exhibition include a computer used by Linus Torvalds and a student boilersuit from 2007. Four light-hearted short films that bring to life students of times past, present and future have been commissioned for the exhibition.
