Eye to eye with Arctic foxes

Swiss photographer David Lerch has been working as a freelance nature photographer in the Arctic region for over ten years. On his first long expedition at the age of 20, he discovered a deep connection to Europe's northernmost point, Svalbard. Since then, this rugged, unique archipelago in the Arctic Ocean has fascinated him and been the focus of his photography.

The main goal of David's photos is to bridge the gap between humans and nature by getting down to the animal's eye level and creating a sense of closeness between the subject and the viewer. The photos also show how isolated Arctic areas are vulnerable and need protection.
