Communications and entertainment consumer electronics over a period of over a hundred years – a museum full of radios, telephones, televisions, monitors and video games!
Salo has a long history of electronics industry – radios have been manufactured in the city since the late 1920s, televisions since the late 1950s, radio telephones since the 1960s and monitors and mobile phones since the early 1980s. The Electronics Museum displays communication equipment manufactured both in Salo and elsewhere.
The "Made in Salo" exhibition offers a wide range of things to experience and see! Think back to the old radios your grandmother had and what programmes you listened to. Do you know what programmes came from black and white televisions in the early days of television? Try out how to dial a manual switchboard with a landline phone and look for your first mobile phone model in the stands. In the game corridor you can try out video games from the 1970s-90s, such as Donkey Kong, Sonic, Super Mario and the tennis game on the Salora Playmaster television.
