Turku Cathedral Museum
Turun tuomiokirkko,
20500 Turku
The Turku Cathedral Museum upstairs in the south gallery takes visitors on a trip all the way back to the fourteenth century.
The story of Turku Cathedral and church life over the centuries is told through objects from the time.
Statues of saints and items used in celebrations during Finland’s Catholic Middle Ages are on display, and the period after the Protestant Reformation is brought to life through vestments and the works of skilful silversmiths. Also, in the Museum, you can acquaint yourself with the various stages of building the Cathedral.
During church services, all touring of the Cathedral or the Museum is suspended.
Guided tours of Turku Cathedral can be booked via Visit Turku by phoning +358 (0)2 262 7900 or by e-mailing myynti@visitturku.fi.
In summer, a free guided tour of the Cathedral is arranged every Wednesday after the summer music programme which begins at 2 p.m.
