The Contemplative Eye of Jonas Heiska – Quiet Poetics, Warm Humour Exhibition Opening Event
Aalto2, Jyväskylä
- 10.10.2026 (12.00-16.00)
The exhibition’s opening event will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, on Aleksis Kivi Day.

The program will feature Jyväskylän Salonkiorkesteri (Jyväskylä Salon Orchestra) performing Finnish classical music from both the early years and recent years of the Jyväskylän Amatööriorkesteri (Jyväskylä Amateur Orchestra). Jyväskylän Salonkiorkesteri carries on the traditions of the Jyväskylän Amatööriorkesteri by offering classical musicians –especially amateurs –the opportunity to play together with others as part of an orchestra.
In addition, on opening day, the recitation group Jyväskylä Sana-Sepot will immerse themselves in the world of Aleksis Kivi, reciting excerpts from the classic novel *Seven Brothers*, which also inspired Jonas Heiska. The program also includes a tour of the exhibition and an opportunity to visit Heiska’s artist’s home.
