The exhibition features a comprehensive selection of mainly post–World War II materials, including informative and cautionary posters, instructional and educational charts, as well as catchy and perceptive stickers.
Powerful Pictures explores posters and other printed materials designed to influence their audience. Throughout different periods, printed visual communication has been used with varying emphases, and its style has evolved—from the dramatic expression of the late 1930s, through the straightforward tone of the post-war era, to the postmodern insights of the 1980s.
