A glimpse into the unique history of Lake Ladoga – the creation of the lake, the early settlement of Karelia, trade routes and its development into a vibrant province.
The exhibition takes visitors to the shores and archipelago of Lake Ladoga, medieval trade routes, monasteries, fishing villages and the roots of Karelian culture. There is plenty of historical images, maps, artifacts and stories about the people of Lake Ladoga and life around the great lake.
