Anssi Kasitonni: Below Zero Finnish Art Award 2025
Serlachius Headquarters, Mänttä-Vilppula
- 21.3.2026–30.8.2026
Anssi Kasitonni’s prize exhibition features his recent work, including the pediment sculpture created in London.

Anssi Kasitonni won the Below Zero 2025 art competition. During the London residency included in the prize, he explored the history of the Beaconsfield Gallery as a school for underprivileged children.
He discovered an old graphic print depicting a pediment that once formed part of a now-demolished section of the building. Kasitonni re-created the pediment creatively, freely developing ideas and his own sketches.
The work "Gentle Means and Easy Tasks" takes its title from Shakespeare’s Othello, from whose words instruction was offered at the school.
Today, the pediment adorns the main entrance of Serlachius Headquarters in Mänttä. The exhibition continues inside the museum, consisting mainly of Anssi Kasitonni’s work from recent years: paintings, sculptures, videos, and short films.
Anssi Kasitonni’s exhibition is co-curated by David Crawforth, Naomi Siderfin, Pauli Sivonen and Tarja Väätänen.
