Our new exhibition series titled Donations over the years opens a door to the collection of Hiekka Art museum and showcases the variety of paintings donated to our museum.
On this first exhibition we have chosen paintings from Gabriel Engberg(1872-1953) and Armas Raunio (1911-1994) - two painters based in Tampere. The exhibition has watercolour paintings by Engberg and oil paintings by Raunio that have been donated to the museum. Most of the works are donations from recent years and many of the paintings have never been seen before.
Through this exhibition we want to highlight the importance of donations in growing our art collection. It is also a perfect opportunity to showcase paintings that only occasionally appear on the walls of the museum.
The exhibition series will continue this year.
