Fairytale Day in Erkkola

Once upon a time there was an Artist Home full of trolls, goblins, elves, fairies, merfolk, princess, princesses, witches and toads as well as all kinds of brave heroes and heroinesses.

Have you ever wanted to dress up as your favourite fairytale character or cosplay as your a character from your favourite story? Now it is possible to do that while visiting Erkkola during our Fairytale Day 17.5.!

During the day you can join all kinds of activities such as magic wand crafting, paper theatre or guided tours about fairytales. During the day you can buy snacks and sweets from the stall in our garden. And if you forgot your costume worry not, for we have several fairytale inspired costumes to try!

The tours are recommended for children over 4 years old. Duration circa 30 minutes.

During the day you can visit our current exhibition "Beyond Reality – Imaginary Worlds in Fairy Tale Illustrations". This exhibition takes us on a journey to fantastical sceneries where dreams and reality merge together. The exhibition features illustrative art from the collections of Amer Cultural Foundation and Tuusula Art Museum. The works of Rudolf Koivu (1890–1946), Martta Wendelin (1893–1986), Venny Soldan-Brofeldt (1863–1945), Lauri Manninen (1915–2001) and Risto Mäkinen (1918–1972) lead the viewer far beyond everyday reality.
