Welcome to celebrate Easter traditionally with us at Palander House!

Easter at Palander House takes us back in time to Easter preparations from a century ago. Visitors can explore the house at their own pace, immersing themselves in old customs, traditions, and beliefs.

Easter preparations begin weeks before the holiday! Supplies have been gathered from the market and the colonial goods merchant, while the kitchen oven is busy baking mämmi and other pastries. In the dining room of Palander House, you can take a peek at the Easter feast table, showcasing a variety of traditional dishes! The delicious flavors and their symbolic meanings tell stories from the past, connecting us to the generations who have celebrated Easter before us.

During the Easter season, from April 5 to April 21, 2025, Palander House is open Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM. Guides will be present in the rooms to share insights about the house’s history and Easter traditions. Visitors are free to explore the rooms at their own pace, as there are no scheduled guided tours.
