Free Admission Sunday at Sinkka

Welcome to visit the Divas and Village Women exhibition on Sinkka’s Free Admission Sunday 7th July 2024! The museum is open from 11 am to 5 pm.

Sinkka’s collection includes almost 30,000 photographs. The exhibition Divas and Village Women focuses on a long-ago world of women and girls. The photographs from the museum’s collection contain traces of people who once lived and moments of history that reach us like the lights of distant stars after a long journey.

The oldest photographs date back more than a hundred years and the most recent were taken in the 1960s, before Kerava became a city. The photographs show fairground divas, farmers’ wives and lively girls posing.

Alongside the main exhibition there are two small exhibitions shown in Sinkka. Kerava corner's mini exhibition “Ancient Kerava and its discoverers” showcases local prehistory in a compact form. Selected artworks from the Rolando and Siv Pieraccini Art Collection are showcased in a mini exhibition at the Place of Pearls. The museum also has a small café and museum shop.
