Musical mushroom hunt

Experience the lovely matinees at Villa Hakasalmi on Sundays at 2 p.m.
Conducted by Aarre Joutsenvirta, the mixed choir of the University of the Arts Helsinki will perform the four-part “Mushroom Series” for mixed choir by composer Juhani Nuorvala. The series’ parts “False Morels” and “Lyophyllum Fumosum” have been composed for Jusa Peltoniemi’s poems, while the text for “Parasol Mushroom” is taken from Finland’s oldest mushroom book from 1863. The text of “Organum” consists of the Latin names of mushrooms. English madrigals and other choir members’ favourite songs will also be heard at the matinee.
Included in the price of admission, no extra charge.
