Marjatta Tapiola (b. 1951) is one of the pioneering artists who reinvented Finnish painting at the start of the 1980’s and connected it with global currents. The stark expressionism of Tapiola’s works have placed her firmly as one of the most notable artists of her generation. Four decades later Tapiola has returned to examine paintings from her youth, many of which are now classics. In Autumn 2022 Tapiola will present these classics in Malva, coupling them with new interpretations.
