The home of art in Tikkurila - a tour of public art
The exhibition collects art situated near Galleria K that belongs in Vantaa Art Museum’s collections.
The home-themed art concept spreading across the Tikkurilantori and Kirjastonpuisto area has been prepared by the Art4 artist group, i.e. Jaana Brinck, Riikka Latva-Somppi, Merja Ranki and Outi Turpeinen. The theme is related to searching and finding one's place in the city and society, as well as the local history of Vantaa. The starting points of the concept are the 1950s, its communal values and emigration, as well as immigration from outside Finland in the 21st century.
In addition, the exhibition includes two other works of public art located in the area: the artworks of Laila Pullinen and Helena Hietanen and Jaakko Niemelä.
It is possible to take a map with you from the exhibition, with which you can find the works presented in the exhibition yourself and get to know them at your own pace. The Vantaa Art Museum's public art collection can also be viewed in the Finna service.
The exhibition is part of the 50th anniversary of the city of Vantaa. anniversary program, the theme of which is "At home in Vantaa".
