Experience the fascinating history of Loviisa in the beautiful Commendant's house!


The exhibitions boasts among other things Gustavian era furniture, silver and pewter objects and history related to the seaside life of the town.
The top floor houses the museum's own specialty, the pewterer's workshop with molds and tools used by pewter makers operative in Loviisa 17571882.
You can also find details about Jean Sibelius' life in Loviisa during summers, as well as the history of Loviisa as a bath town.
The attic of the Commendant's house is an exciting place to explore history with all the senses for children and anyone who wants to try things more up close and personal.
Speakers of Finnish or Swedish can also try to solve the mysteries of Iverus in an escape room game.
