The Sámi Museum preserves and presents the spiritual and material heritage of the Finnish Sámi in its collections and exhibitions.
The Sámi Museum preserves and presents the spiritual and material heritage of the Finnish Sámi in its collections and exhibitions. The museum centre Siida shows how nature and people have adapted to the extreme conditions of the Northern environment side by side. Temporary exhibitions on cultural history, nature and art. The open-air museum presents typical dwellings of the Sámi fishermen and the nomadic Sámi, as well as hunting methods and reindeer husbandry. Sámi Museum has regional unit in Sevettijärvi where the Sámi Museum maintains the Skolt Sámi Heritage House.
