You can buy a Museum Card as either a digital or a letter gift at our online store. Please note, however, that whereas letter gifts ordered online will not arrive in time for Christmas, a digital gift will. Remember though, you can get a letter gift to take away immediately at Museums.

How and when will the Museum Card be delivered?

You can buy a Museum Card:

• at our online store as a digital gift, which will be delivered as a text message and by email. A digital gift always arrives in time - attach your greetings to the gift and schedule the gift to arrive on the Christmas Eve morning, for example.
• at our online store as a letter gift, the gift envelope will be sent to the recipient’s home. Please note, however, that letter gifts ordered online will not arrive in time for Christmas.
• at Museum Card museums, where you can get a gift to take away immediately. When you buy a Museum Card gift at a museum, you will immediately receive a temporary Museum Card packaged in a beautiful gift envelope, which you can give to anyone you choose.

Please note! You can buy as many Museum Card gifts as you need at the same time. Online payment methods include online banks, payment cards and MobilePay, as well as cultural benefits Smartum, Edenred and ePassi. When using cultural benefits, you can only buy the card for yourself.

When does the validity of a Museum Card begin?

• New cards: The 12-month validity of cards begins from the first museum visit. You can buy an entirely new card even if you already have a Museum Card. It’s easy to combine the cards. See here for more information.
• Museum Card gift: Gift cards do not expire before they are used. Like other new cards, the validity of Museum Card gifts only begins on the first visit. This means that the recipient can use the card whenever they want.
• If the recipient of the gift already has a Museum Card, they can combine the gift with their existing card on the My Museum Card website. The gift will extend the validity of an existing card by 12 months.
