Open Art Workshops During the Autumn Holiday Week: Build Your Own Graffiti City!
Tue–Fri 13–16 October 2026, 12 noon–3 pm

What would a city look like where street art meets art history? Come and build a shared Graffiti City where recycled materials are transformed into houses, streets, parks and surprising works of art! Over the course of the four-day workshop, participants will create a miniature city from recycled materials in the museum’s Taikatila creative space.

Come to the art museum with a friend, family member or grandparent and explore graffiti art together! The Schjerfbeck X Nordea Art Foundation exhibition is also on display. The open art workshops focus on the themes of the museum’s current exhibitions.

Free for visitors under 24; for others, included in the admission fee or free with a Museum Card.

Graffiti City, 19 September 2026–17 January 2027
Graffiti City brings together graffiti artists from Jyväskylä representing different generations, from the 1990s to the present day. The exhibition explores the local history of graffiti, highlights its diverse forms of expression, and shows how graffiti can take shape as sculpture, printmaking and installation art.
