2.00 - 3.00 PM Historical Afternoons: Extended Stone and Dreams of Teenage Galaxies? EMMA’s Public Art Around Espoo, Then and Now / Studio Ilmiö

This presentation will explore public artworks as part of EMMA's collections activities, including how works are acquired, their history, and their maintenance.

The lecture is held in Finnish.

The lecture is part of the programme celebrating the 20th anniversary week of the WeeGee Exhibition Centre.

3.10 - 3.30 PM Selection of Traditional chinese Dances / 2nd Floor

A dance performance by the Chinese-speaking group of the Jade community. Jade is a multilingual community and a place for self-directed activities for older people who have moved to Finland. The community organises a wide range of peer-support groups and leisure activities throughout the Helsinki metropolitan area. The Chinese-speaking groups from Espoo and Helsinki meet weekly to rehearse performances featuring their own choreography.

Public art has always been an important part of Espoo’s cityscape and quality of life.
