Fredrika Runeberg’s Plants – Wednesday Tours

Every Wednesday, a guided tour with a changing theme is held at the Botanical Garden. On Runeberg Day, museum gardener Aaja Peura will talk during the tour about Fredrika Runeberg’s passion for plants and how it has influenced Finnish houseplant culture.
Runeberg’s spouse Fredrika was a true plant enthusiast. Her collections included, for the first time in Finland, many plants that are common today, as well as plants that were common until the mid-1950s but have since fallen out of use. From this far northern corner of the world, Fredrika closely followed international trends by reading horticultural publications.
The tour starts from the lobby of the Botanical Garden.
Please secure your place on the tour by purchasing a ticket in advance on the University of Turku Botanical Garden’s website. The price includes admission to the greenhouses.
Adults: €18
Pensioners, students: €12
With a Museum Card: €6
The guided tour in the greenhouses lasts approximately 1 hour.
