Essi Kuokkanen (b. 1991 in Pieksämäki) is known for her strong and original paintings, which are guided by introspection, visual thinking and storytelling. As an artist, Kuokkanen is constantly evolving, and her works are characterised by the presence of the subconscious and physicality, sensitivity, sympathy and gentle humour, which allow even difficult topics or emotions to be resolved in a positive way within the painting.
The exhibition is supported by the Finnish Heritage Agency.
