How and when is a Museum Card bought as a gift delivered?

You can buy a Museum Card

• in our online store as a digital gift that is delivered as a text message and by email
  
• in our online store as a gift envelope that is delivered by post
  
• in any of our museums to take with you.

Museum Cards bought online are delivered to the gift recipient according to your choice: by post in a gift envelope or digitally as a text message and by email. Gift envelopes ordered before Monday 9 Dec. will arrive by Christmas.

Digital gifts always arrive in time; you can schedule the gift to arrive on Christmas Eve and add your personal greeting.

Where can I buy a Museum Card with the special offer?

You can buy as many Museum Cards for gifts as you wish from our online store or at a Museum Card attraction. The online store accepts online bank services, payment cards and MobilePay as a payment method. If you buy the card for yourself, you can also pay with SmartumSaldo, Edenred and ePassi.

Many museums accept a broad range of payment methods, including cultural benefits. Before visiting a museum, check the museum’s opening hours and payment methods on the museum’s own website.

When does the Museum Card’s validity period start?

• New cards: For new cards, the 12-month validity period starts from the first museum visit.
  
• Museum Card as a gift: Gift cards do not expire until they are used. The validity of a Museum Card as a gift starts from the first visit, as with other new cards. This means that the gift recipient can start using the card whenever they want.

How to give a Museum Card as a gift

1) A digital gift that is delivered as a text message and by email

You can choose the delivery day and time for the digital gift yourself. The gift can be delivered to the recipient immediately or be scheduled to arrive on Christmas Eve, for example. If you want the recipient to have the gift immediately, choose the digital version instead of the gift envelope. You can also add your own message to the digital gift. It will be included in the email sent to the recipient.

The gift recipient will get a customer number and instructions by email and text message. They can be used to visit a museum right away. When the gift recipient registers as a Museum Card user, a personal, plastic Museum Card will be sent to them.

2) A gift envelope delivered by post

If you want to give a Museum Card as a tangible gift, choose the gift envelope. You can also add your own message, which will be printed on the letter along with your name.

The gift envelope contains a Temporary Museum Card and instructions for using it. The card can be used to visit a museum right away. When the gift recipient registers as a Museum Card user using an online form, a personal, plastic Museum Card will be sent to them.

Please note that Museum Cards ordered in a gift envelope will arrive by post in 1–2 weeks. The exact delivery day will depend on Posti.

Please note! Gift envelopes ordered from the online store before 9 December will arrive by Christmas. After this, gift envelopes can be bought from Museum Card museums, in which case you get to take the gift envelope with you.

3) A Museum Card bought as a gift from a museum

When you buy a Museum Card as a gift from a museum, you will get a temporary Museum Card in a gift envelope that you can give to anyone. The card can be used to visit a museum right away. When the gift recipient registers as a Museum Card user, a personal, plastic Museum Card will be sent to them.
