Hanna Kanno's artworks focus on human presence and agency in the forest.
Hanna Kanto's artworks present views of the nature, people and culture of the north. The exhibition examines Finnish forest culture, which is enlivened by the presence of animism. In the exhibition, the ecological, economic and practical world meets the spiritual, mystical and strange.
Hanna Kanto (b. 1981) is a visual artist from Tornio, who lives and works in Helsinki. Kanto graduated from the University of Lapland in 2007 and from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2018. Hanna Kanto mainly works with painting, but also combines three-dimensional ceramic elements in her works.
