The Night of the Arts at Burgher’s House Museum: Music in a wooden house yard

On the Night of the Arts, the yard of Burgher’s House will feature traditional music from Finland and faraway countries.

18:00 Kuokkavieraat

The folk music group Kuokkavieraat has brought people joy for more than 40 years. The group’s line-up has changed over the years, but what they do has not: their repertoire features melancholy songs from Karelia, joyful sounds from Ireland and pure Finnish melodies, delivered with swinging female energy.

19:00 Aition Desert Ensemble

Aition Desert Ensemble is a collaborative project between producer and composer Lasse Lindgren, Ensemble Sufira and cembalist Anna–Maaria Oramo. The music written for Lasse Lindgren’s texts about a desert in ancient history and the Middle Ages is influenced by the musical styles of the Middle East, the Mediterranean and neo-folk.

20:00 Mikkels Sons

Mikkels Sons are a one-of-a-kind acoustic band. The band’s sound falls somewhere in the continuum of archaic old time, rugged roots, modern folk and current pop music, drawing inspiration from everything they hear.

The band consists of Miika Hynninen (vocals, violin, mandolin, harmonica), Oona Yliperttula (violin, vocals), Matti Muuriaisniemi (double bass, vocals) and Antti Tuominen (guitar, vocals).
