Holiday Nation is a photo exhibition that features the award-winning work of photojournalist Touko Hujanen. Finns are known as hard-working people, but this hard-working nation also loves its leisure.
Finns always look forward to the start of their holiday or weekend, and when that moment finally arrives, it is almost as exciting as the wait itself. Then, some set out to explore mysterious forest trails, while others drive around a field in a Lada 1200, visit local festivals to try out traditional delicacies, or finish off their felt-knitting project.
When the holiday season kicks off, Finns turn from slush-kicking individuals into a unified group – a holiday nation. The photo exhibition is made possible with the help of Finnfoto – The Central Association of Finnish Photographic Organisations.
